Halloween is a ghastly event full of ghoulish costumes and scary, tricky fun. Nothing gets a good Halloween costume going properly than good Halloween masks. It is a very important part of Halloween and one part that can have the biggest impact on the celebrations of the night. The Halloween masks are utilized by some as if it was a part of their own flesh and bones and there are yet many more who believe that the Halloween masks are like a mirror reflecting the wearer’s inner persona. Nonetheless the Halloween masks are very important to the integrity of the entire costume and can spell the difference between a good and a bad costume. Halloween masks come in different shapes, sizes, qualities and materials and all of them have different traits. The most practical types of Halloween masks are the latex masks as they are low maintenance, low cost and highly durable products. Latex Halloween masks can last for a very long time given that they were stored in the proper condition and that implies keeping the mask away from direct sunlight as not quite unlike the ghoulish characteristics it represents, the properties of the latex does not allow the masks the liberty of sitting comfortable in direct sunlight and not getting spoiled. To preserve the Halloween masks in mint condition, try to store them in a dry location away from leather materials as leather tends to ruin latex. Of course, Halloween masks are not meant for keeping in storage, but rather to put on. Here are a few tricks to get your Halloween masks to fit properly. First of all, if your head is too small compared to the mask, you can try fitting the interior of the Halloween masks with plastic bags to provide the proper padding that will allow the Halloween masks to fit properly over your face. However, this is not a permanent solution. A more permanent solution would be to get some foam padding and some rubber cement and using the cement to attach the padding to the interior of the Halloween masks to fit it to your head size. However, be careful about placing the padding because once the cement dries,
it will become very difficult to alter the padding again without damaging the
Halloween masks. For fitting smaller masks to larger heads, the technique is
very basic but it takes a while to master it. The basic concept is to cut the
mask in places to make space for your head. Now, the real trick is to figure
out where you cut the Halloween
masks so that it does not lose its appeal and how do you cover up the cuts.
Figuring out these dilemmas will require some creative thinking and some brain-storming,
but, to get you started, here is a simple trick. First attempt, try to cut at
the back of the neck a little at a time and try out the Halloween masks to see
when it fits you. Once you get the perfect fit, punch a hole on top of the slit
you just cut and stop the slit from expanding any further. |
